The Strange Depository

Have you ever been in an RP and suddenly had the urge to write the most screwed up thing you can think of ?
Something utterly destructive, something that would take the story down the most horrible path possible ?
Or did you ever want to be a spoon [that ate the food it held before its user could put it in their mouth] ?

There really is not enough strangeness around here. Sure, there's teenagers running amok, wielding great fists of fire and, ahem, smirking all over the place. But where are the cats that are split in half, the bottom half in the lap of the corpse of an old lady while the top half wanders the ocean floor and battling all the evil crab robots ?
In The Strange Depository all spoons, half-cats, tentacle-bearded aliens, and your everyday telekinetic dentists would be welcome. The Strange Depository is a world parallel to our own, but filled with the strangest beings, places, everything possible.
Pockets of a 1984 spread across the North Pole.
The Loch Ness Monster rising from its lake to slap the American president for doing things wrong.
Soylent Green.

I understand that this concept would most likely bring about the most horrible, chaotic RP you'd have ever seen. So, let's bring in some normal characters; military installments, scientists and researchers, and just for scat and giggles, everybody's favourite nameless citizens. All of which you shouldn't expect to last very long. Would that solve the problem of it becoming the worst RP ? Nah, didn't think so. But it could make for some amazing death scenes.

To facilitate the flow of The Strange Depository, the Powers That Be will be hanging around to observe and keep the balance of chaos. But I'm not sure that they will be enough. In time, I may have to enlist the Other Powers That Be to help out. Especially with the paperwork.

This idea was inspired by the likes of The Drabblecast [Strange stories, by strange authors, for strange listeners], The SCP Foundation, and strange horror in general. I would be looking for players that aren't afraid to turn each situation on its head, play as the oddest things, and enjoy killing off humans in amusingly creative ways. And, of course, I would need players to come from a human perspective. Fill the story with references, nonsensical situations, the worst application of science, and all that good stuff.

Having posts at least once a week should be good enough, but it would be preferable if the story could be kept moving, if only a little bit, everyday. That way, this can be a group effort, some players moving it along when others are being tied down by RL obligations.

As for how much to put into a post; I'm really looking for cleverness. Heck, if it's a one-liner but so amazingly worded and brings out a whole new take on what is happening, even I could accept that. Otherwise, let's aim for at least 200 words. If you make sure to describe in gory detail you should be able to easily pass 200.

I understand that this idea may be quite out there for general audiences. If I can gather just a few people, I could scale down The Strange Depository into more of a pocket of space rather than a full parallel universe.

If you have any suggestions about how to better work this RP or why it's just not a good idea at all, I would love to hear them. I have not been on RolePlayGateway that long, but I have been roleplaying for quite a while. I did take a break for a long time, but I believe myself to be back in full swing of things. I've got several more ideas, but they do actually have more of a plot, so they're still in development. Enjoy this weird thing for now. C:
