The Windows Phone Services (WPS) team is looking for an accomplished and versatile content production manager who?s interested in working closely with writers, editors, marketers, production engineers, and PMs to create world-class web experiences. As a production manager in Windows Phone you would own end-to-end publishing of web content that appears on Windowsphone.com and our on-phone experiences, as well as all phases of the production process. The ideal candidate understands content creation and web publishing end to end, is passionate about web technology and content publishing, and genuinely thrives on looking for new and interesting ways to solve complex publishing challenges. Success will depend on an ability to build strong cross-group relationships, and to drive scale through strong execution. Continual process improvement that deliver consistency, predictability, repeatability are also keys to success.
Responsibilities
Proven thought leadership and results in leading publishing for a global, high-volume, web site or service.
Ability to develop and manage content project plans, including timelines and deliverables, with demonstrated ability to translate business requests into execution.
Strong release and program management skills in scheduling, work estimation, risk mitigation, and managing a large pipeline of simultaneous work items and projects.
Experience leading teams of internal vendors, and developing innovative and cost-efficient processes and tools that drive predictability and enable the business to scale.
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to influence others w/o direct authority.
Ability to effectively negotiate through conflict to drive issues to resolution while always maintaining the relationship.
Qualifications
5 plus years program/project management experience required
3-5 years of managing diverse resource models (FTE, vendor, onshore, offshore, etc.)
Experience managing a high-volume website or web service required
Has a demonstrated passion for technology and the Web
Exhibits excellent communications and project management skills, as well as strong analytical skills
Demonstrated ability to coordinate and communicate with other internal and external groups
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field is preferred
